Phase 2 : Corrective Care

Teaming Up for Optimal Health

Dr. Flory explains about Corrective Care ...

"Most patients consult our office because they're suffering from some type of ache or pain. Visits are scheduled closer together during this early stage of acute care and there are three possible responses ...

Road_to_Recovery.png A"Start at the beginning of the chart, in the "Suffering" zone. Some patients see fast results with their symptoms improving quickly. This is demonstrated by the top path of the first section of the Road to Recovery (left).

B"A few patients seem to get a little worse before they improve, but this is usually just because they have had some 'sleeping' muscles and when they wake up the patients notice.

"Notice that the visit "dots" are closer together at the beginning of care and open up as the care progresses. This is designed to indicate visit frequency, not the total number of visits. We have no idea how much care one needs until they are examined.

"And I'm happy to report that most patients (the middle path of the first section) enjoy steady improvement, with each visit building on the ones before and they reach C'Decision Time.' (found at the fork in the YELLOW section of the graph) This is usually around the time the patient is having little to no more pain and is stabilizing.  It is an exciting part of care!

"You'll be feeling better, but the supporting muscles and ligaments haven't fully healed and strengthened. That's something that happens after symptoms disappear. You'll have to decide whether to continue your visits to achieve maximum healing and keep yourself in tip-top shape G, or…

D "Coast. And the only way to coast is to go downhill. Without the strengthening and healing that happens up here, you'll be predisposed to a relapse. We can't predict when, but most patients tell us it usually happens at the worst time possible!

"When this happens, I hope you don't blame us or the corrections, especially if we didn't have the opportunity to fully heal supporting muscles and soft tissues. Many people think that once they feel better, that they are better. But people with undetected cancer, heart disease or even the early stages of tooth decay may not have symptoms, but they certainly aren't healthy!

"If this is the path that you choose then we will welcome you back and Estart all over with a series of visits to get you back to 'Decision Time' again. And again you'll choose whether to build on your investment and take the high road to wellness, or…

"Coast. And the only way to coast is to go downhill. You'll notice Feach relapse gets a little worse and as your health potential diminishes, never getting back to where you were.

"Don't make a hasty decision, but having watched so many patients go through this process, I have the clinical responsibility and the moral obligation to explain this process to patients in advance so they'll understand the consequences of their choice. No matter what ... either way, we're here to serve you and to help you reach your health goals."
